| 9:15-10:15 a.m. | Supporting Transgender Youth Erik Ryder This presentation will include best practices for working with transgender youth, including: · Pronoun and vocabulary overview · Ways to take action to be supportive and respectful of transgender people · Answering questions from lived experience as a transgender person Erik Ryder (He/Him/His) is currently a counselor at an adult correctional facility and care coordinator for Free Through Recovery in North Dakota. Erik worked with the homeless youth population for 4 years prior to this position. He started a youth LGBTQ+ group at a youth nonprofit and the first LGBTQ+ group at the correctional facility. Erik provides Intro LGBTQ+ and Transgender trainings to various agencies in North Dakota and Minnesota. |
